temples of Udaipur are the Jag Mandir, Jagdish Temple,

there are innumerable festivals in Udaipur but these
festivals are somewhat unique in Udaipur. Generally
festivals are related to some gods or spiritual concept. But
an art festival held in Udaipur with great pomp and show and

display of the Rajasthani rural arts and architecture.
If you want to tour to the holy places of Udaipur there are

Udaipur. The main bus stand of Udaipur is on City Station
road where you will get buses for different tourist
destinations in India.
And within Udaipur while travelling to the temples you can
hire auto rickshaws or taxis, but most of the auto rickshaws
are not having meter so it is better to fix the fare first
and then ride on it.
Rishabdeo Temple In Udaipur
If you are interested to visit the temples around Udaipur
city then make a sure visit to Dhuler. You can hire a taxi
or get any other desired communication and make a quick
visit to Dhuler, which is about 65 km. away from Udaipur.
The nearest railway station is about 11 kms away from the
tourist destination of Dhuler. In Dhuler the main tourist
attraction is the Rishabdeo temple.
There are frequent busses and other vehicles running all
around the city. While making a quick travel to Udaipur
temples you can also rest for a day at Dhuler you can easily
do it, as there are many lodging provisions available. You
can also find frequent buses from Udaipur Bus station for
this holy site.
The main tourist attraction in Dhuler is the Rishabdeo
temple. For Jains and Bhils while making an Udaipur tour a
visit to the Rishabdeo temple nearby Udaipur is a must. Lord
Mahavira is the founder of the Jainism sect and Rishabdeo is
said to one of his forms. The idol in the Rishabdeo temple
is about 1 meter tall and it is made up of black marble. It
is located in the midst of the highway that leads to
Ahmedabad. The Bhils find some familiarity with the black
marble idol of Rishabdeo with their dark-skin complexion.
While the Jains believe that the idol is related to the
reign of Rama and Sita. The Bhils has great regards for the
Rishabdeo temple, as they believe that all their desires and
wants are fulfilled over here.
Eklingji Temple In Udaipur
Udaipur temple travel guidelines can never be complete
without the mention of Eklingji temple. Though our sections
are adequately descriptive, with most of the details of
small and big temples it can never be a proper tourist
information guide without the mention of eklingji temple,
which is, situated 24 kms away from Udaipur.
There is a continuous flexible communications facility to
the Kailashpuri from Udaipur city. Apart from rental coaches
and deluxe cars you can also journey to the eklingji temple
at Udaipur by frequent buses. The buses are available in
plenty at the Udaipur bus station. It takes about 30 minutes
to reach from the main Udaipur bus station to the temple. It
is in this small town of Kailashpuri that the ancient
eklingji temple built by the rulers of Mewar dynasty stands.
The eklingji temple of Udaipur has 108 temples within it and
it is made up of sandstone and marble. The principal deity
of this temple is Lord Shiva who was the savoir of the
Maharajas of Mewar.
A series of steps will take you to the interior of the
temple where you will find an extended hall with exquisite
carved pillars implanted on it. In the hall you can find a
silvery Nandi who is believed to be one of the disciples of
Shiva according to the ancient folklore. There is another
dark colored Nandi inside the temple made up of black marble
and the other Nandi can make your eyes quiver with its
shinny brass texture.
The present temple of Eklingji is built on the ruins of the
ancient temple. The principal god of the temple Lord Shiva
has four faces. On the west side of the idol the face is of
Brahma, Vishnu is facing the north direction, Maheshwar or
Shiva facing southwards and Surya facing east side. The
other gods that re also worshiped in the same temple are
Parvati, Ganesha, Ganga, Kartikeya, Yamuna and Saraswati.
There are also small temples of Amba Mata, Kalka Mata and
Ganesh in the same temple arena.
Shivratri is celebrated in this temple with great pomp and
show. The lord of the temple along with its complex is
adorned with the best jewelry costumes and other enhancing
decorative items. |
